Cholesterol Level Tracker Calculator

Keep an eye on your total cholesterol and lipid ratios.

Support Heart Health

Gain insight into your approximate total cholesterol and key ratios.

What this calculator does

Cholesterol tracker monitors HDL (good), LDL (bad), and triglycerides. High total and LDL increase heart disease risk; high HDL is protective.

How it works

Total = HDL + LDL + (Triglycerides ÷ 5). Also calculates LDL:HDL and Triglyceride:HDL ratios.

Formula

Healthy targets: Total <200, LDL <100, HDL >40 (men) or >50 (women), Triglycerides <150.

Tips for using this calculator

  • Get full lipid panel from doctor
  • Track every 4-6 years if normal, annually if abnormal
  • Lower LDL through diet and exercise
  • Raise HDL with exercise and limiting refined carbs
  • Consult doctor about medication if ratios unfavorable

Frequently asked questions

What's HDL vs LDL?

LDL builds up in arteries (bad). HDL removes LDL and transports to liver (good).

What are healthy numbers?

Total <200, LDL <100, HDL >40-50, Triglycerides <150 mg/dL.

Why are ratios important?

Ratios show balance between protective and harmful cholesterol, better predicting heart disease risk.
